Title: Subdivisions
Fandom: Enhypen, The Kingdom
Pairing/Characters: Park Sunghoon, Yang Dongsik | Louis
Content Notes: N/A
Prompt: 12 September, with the title Subdivisions
Dongsik led the way into the area, hands gripping his gun without clenching on it, ready to shoot - and just as ready not to shoot. Behind him, he heard Sunghoon following, footsteps as sure as his own for all that he'd joined them just recently.
Something moved and he held up his hand, stopping dead. Sunghoon stopped right behind him, close enough that Dongsik could feel his breath on his neck. Dongsik didn't move, eyes on where he'd seen the movement. Nothing else moved, but he waited, not wanting to move until he was sure. Sunghoon didn't shift behind him, no impatience coming from the new recruit.
Finally, he relaxed, turning his head to look back at Sunghoon.
"What did you see?" Sunghoon breathed, barely loud enough to be heard from even three feet away.
"I don't know," Dongsik responded the same way. "It didn't move again."
Sunghoon bit his lip, eyes scanning the street in front of them. "I hate subdivisions," he mumbled.
Dongsik huffed his agreement. "Too many places to hide." He sighed. "Let's start on this corner, and go down this side of the street. I don't expect to find any survivors, but we can't not check."
Sunghoon nodded his agreement, and they moved toward the front door of the too innocent-looking house on the corner. They had to start somewhere, and this was a good a place as any. If anyone had survived, they'd find them.
