"It's probably open," Psyche called, a moment after registering that someone had knocked on the door to her quarters. She wasn't sure who'd be visiting, but it was probably Mick or Varuna.
She definitely wasn't expecting Jet to be the one who quietly wandered in, blinking once before looking around.
"Wow, I'd heard you'd gotten some new equipment but-"
"A whole new everything," Psyche said, smiling as she pushed back her new chair and stretched. "Check it out. I've almost got everything retrieved from across the net, as well as my physical backups."
"Going back to the old work?" Jet questioned with a smile.
"Maybe a little," Psyche admitted. "I always did my best work in the shadows. But mostly it'll just let me work in general now that everything is quiet enough that I can. I might make a new game instead, or write a book or something."
"Mmhmm." Jet looked from her to the three monitors and gently-glowing tower and server pair and everything and then back. "Going to write a book or something."
"I'll be able to help with administrative work, too," Psyche insisted, laughing. That was part of her plan, but yes, games and maybe some side-work for fun. "You know, my actual job here? That I now have?"
"I do, and that's part of why I came to visit," Jet replied. He grabbed Psyche's old chair from where she'd pushed it against the wall, half-buried in packaging. He turned it around and sat, leaning his arms and chin on the back.
"Why do I feel like this is more of a side-job?" Psyche questioned.
Jet just gave her a little smile.
